Presentation Guidelines

New for USNCM 2027 in Boulder, there are two different options for oral presentations.

Oral Presentations:

Oral Presentations are standard podium presentations, typically ~20 minutes in length per slot including time for questions. When creating your slideshow, please use concise text and high-quality visuals. Account for differences in projector and computer aspect ratios by keeping information away from the outer boundaries of your slides. AV will be provided, but please ensure you have a working laptop and any necessary dongles and accessories to plug in. You should reserve 4 minutes of your timeslot for questions.

Interactive Presentations:

Interactive presentations are a hybrid podium/poster presentation. Each presenter will be given 10 minutes to present their work in a traditional slideshow format. When creating your slideshow, please use concise text and high-quality visuals. Account for differences in projector and computer aspect ratios by keeping information away from the outer boundaries of your slides. AV will be provided, but please ensure you have a working laptop and any necessary dongles and accessories to plug in. No Q&A will be held before moving to the next podium talk.

After the slide presentations are completed, speakers will move to the back of the room for an interactive Q&A session alongside their posters. This extended Q&A will last for a full half of the session time to allow in depth interactions. We highly encourage speakers to use the same figures from their 10-minute podium presentation in their posters for consistency. For poster formatting guidelines and a campus poster printing option, see the Poster Guidelines section.

Poster Guidelines

Work in Progress Posters (WiPP) and Interactive Presentation Posters must not exceed 30" x 40", but can be either landscape or portrait orientation. To make your research stand out, please use clear headings, concise text, and high-quality visuals. Avoid overcrowding the layout and choose colors and fonts that enhance readability. Standalone easels and foam backing boards will be provided, so paper or lightweight fabrics will work best.

On campus printing option:

Don't carry a poster if you dont have to! The InkSpot in the University Memorial Center (UMC) on CU Boulder's campus offers poster printing and more. Find more information here: InkSpot
